Sixiemeson: Brand-Fit Music

The impact of choosing appropriate music has been researched and found to be effective.

In a 2015 study from the Stockholm School of Economics, researchers looked at the impact of music at the European apparel retailer Gant. The study compared sales at stores that were playing music that the brand had specifically chosen to fit with its identity, and values and compared those sales to sales at the same stores playing a control playlist of songs not curated by the brand. The researchers found the change in music created an increase of 32% in sales.
